West Potomac Park includes the parkland that extends south of the
Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, from the
Lincoln Memorial to the grounds of the
Washington Monument . Located on the northern side of the White House,
Lafayette Square is a historic public square. It has been the site of many protests, marches, and speeches. The houses bordering Lafayette Square have served as the home to many notable figures. Other parks, gardens, and squares include
Dumbarton Oaks,
Meridian Hill Park,
the Yards,
Lincoln Park,
Franklin Square,
McPherson Square, and
Farragut Square. There are a large number of
traffic circles and circle parks in Washington, D.C., including
Dupont Circle,
Logan Circle, and
Thomas Circle.
