Like Irving, who was an active
Freemason, Stoker also became a member of the order, "initiated into Freemasonry in Buckingham and Chandos Lodge No. 1150 in February 1883, passed in April of that same year, and raised to the degree of Master Mason on 20 June 1883." Stoker however was not a particularly active Freemason, spent only six years as an active member, and did not take part in any Masonic activities during his time in London.
