Nutrition, specifically the <a rel="mw:WikiLink" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/Mediterranean_diet" title="Mediterranean diet" id="mwBfM">Mediterranean-style diet</a>, has the potential to decrease the risk of having a stroke by more than half. It does not appear that lowering levels of <a rel="mw:WikiLink" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/Homocysteine" title="Homocysteine" id="mwBfg">homocysteine</a> with <a rel="mw:WikiLink" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/Folic_acid" title="Folic acid" class="mw-redirect" id="mwBfk">folic acid</a> affects the risk of stroke.
